About the Program
Keenan Vision and UC Berkeley Haas are partnering with Salesforce on a landmark study that will:
- Benchmark overlay vs. embedded AI architectures across security, scalability, governance, and developer velocity.
- Quantify the Service-as-a-Software & Virtual-Employee (VE) market using the Three Laws of VE Economics.
- Publish an industry-defining white paper and seed a worldwide community through WorkDifferentWithAI.com.
Each Fellow operates as a peer investigator—interviewing EVPs, shaping econometric models, and co-authoring public thought-leadership seen by Fortune 500 CIOs.
Key Responsibilities
Domain | What You'll Do |

Executive Fieldwork | • Lead “truth-to-power” interviews with Salesforce SVPs, startup founders, CIOs, and policy officials. • Extract adoption patterns, security pain-points, and ROI narratives. |
Architecture & Strategy Analysis | • Map 25-attribute design matrix for overlay vs. embedded implementations. • Synthesize patterns into case-study briefs and decision frameworks. |
VE-Economics & TAM Modeling | • Build and stress-test elasticity curves and Monte-Carlo scenarios. • Segment the Service-as-a-Software TAM by vertical, buyer size, and deployment model. • Package insights into interactive dashboards. |
Thought-Leadership Production | • Publish bi-weekly insight posts or data-visualization briefs on WorkDifferentWithAI.com and LinkedIn. • Co-author the white paper, working-paper drafts, and conference slide decks. |
Community & Event Activation | • Serve as panelist / moderator at two San Francisco AI Meetups (mid-July & early Sept). • Host AMAs and forum threads to engage academics, practitioners, and activists. |
Ideal Profile
- Academic standing MBA, M.S., or Ph.D. candidate / recent grad in Business, CS, Economics, or Data Science from a top-tier institution (Haas strongly preferred).
- Professional pedigree 3-7 years in enterprise software, strategy consulting, VC/PE, or technical product management.
- Tool fluency Comfort with GPT-4o/Claude workflows, SQL or Python/R for data analysis, and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Executive presence Proven ability to engage C-suite leaders, ask incisive questions, and translate complexity into actionable insight.
- Storytelling chops Exceptional written and spoken English; portfolio of blogs, articles, or reports a plus.
- Mission alignment Genuine curiosity about how AI reshapes labor markets and organizational design.

Compensation & Logistics
- Duration June 9 – October 4 2025 (flexible start for visa/travel).
- Location Berkeley campus + optional remote; travel to San Francisco events covered.
- Stipend Competitive monthly rate commensurate with MBA/PhD fellowship benchmarks, plus travel & publication bonuses.
- Time commitment ≈ 20 hrs/week during term; lighter load post-publication.
